BCSD takes the health and safety of the public very seriously. We recognize the impact that the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has had on our community. We felt it was important to maintain clear and transparent lines of communication with you and to share information about the steps our team is taking in connection with this virus.
COVID-19 is a respiratory illness transmitted through close contact with an infected person and is believed to disproportionally affect:
- Older adults (65+)
- Individuals with compromised immune systems
- Individuals who have serious chronic medical conditions like:
- Heart disease
- Lung disease
According to the Fresno County Department of Health, “There is no immediate threat to the general public in Fresno County. The Fresno County Department of Public Health (FCDPH) has plans in place to inform and protect all residents, limit exposures to any new cases if identified, and address concerns as they arise.” As a practical matter, BCSD will comply with the ever-changing federal, state and local law, directives and guidance; and consider our agency’s infrastructure capabilities and facility options.
We completely understand if you decide to cancel an event you have scheduled with BCSD. Should you decide to cancel, you will receive a full refund of your money. If Fresno County issues orders prohibiting your event from occurring, your event will automatically be canceled and you will receive a full refund.
