Proposition 218 Election Results

The Proposition 218 election resulted in landowner approval of an increase to the solid waste rates for the Biola Community Services District.

Following the public hearing held during the Board of Directors meeting on January 19, 2023, the election results were finalized. The District received less than 50% of protest ballots, allowing the proposed solid waste rate increase to move forward. Voting concluded at the end of the public hearing, at which time the Board Clerk commenced the official ballot count.

Approved Solid Waste Rate Increase

As approved through the Proposition 218 election, the standard solid waste service rate was established at $28.70 per month, effective February 2023.

The approved rate structure includes different rates based on service classifications. A 5.5% increase will be applied each year on July 1, beginning July 1, 2023, through July 1, 2026, in accordance with the approved rate schedule.
