ALICE DAUER CHEESEMAN

May contain: person, human, and face

Rest in peace Alice Dauer Cheeseman, who passed away in December at age 95.   She was Biola's "first lady".  Alice was raised in Biola and lived in Biola with husband Earl where they raised their three children.  She and Earl were  the Cheeseman in the  "Cheeseman and Steitz Grocery Store" for four decades.  After retirement they continued to reside in Biola  (when they were not on a golf course) until their passing.  Alice was our first "Biola Raisin Day Queen" in 1943, she was a Central High School tennis state champion and her senior class valedictorian.  For years, Alice was an active member of the Modern Woodmen of America, Royal Neighbors, Biola American Legion Auxiliary,  Biola Chamber of Commerce, Biola Congregational Church,  Biola Mother's Club (now Parent's Club), and other local clubs and organizations.   Alice took civic pride to an unselfish level and positively advocated for our community through her life and deeds.
